This is a journey through the skies on a flying carpet with my grandmother who survived from a concentration camp in Xinjiang, China.
As they soar, the carpet transforms into a tapestry of Sumerian myths, dreams, and fragmented memories, intertwining the past with the present of maternal history in Turkestan.
Behind each language, it’s not only an army but also a choice of a mother. Where are the 'mothers' when the 'tongues' are being erased? How are they passing on the knowledge without the 'tongue'?
This is a research project of searching motherly figures in the Turkestan history and myths, and trying to generate 'half-myth' based on the 'half-true' history of colonisation.

Two lovers speak in Uyghur and Turkish — languages close enough to touch, yet never quite the same. We guess, we play, we listen. Misunderstandings turn tender, words lie down beside us. The piece is an invitation to share our bed of sound, where language itself becomes intimacy.
