About me
Darya Andijan is an identity created in 2023, rooted in the Uyghur region in China and now based in the Netherlands. She’s tracing back her female lineage by practicing Sufism, but often falls in a line between a believer and a non-believer.

During her MA at the Netherlands Film Academy, she explored film, installation, and expanded cinema. She creates works that weave myths, poetry, and family history to challenge oppression and colonial erasure. Using critical fabulation, she makes space for erased stories to be seen and heard.

Her works have been presented at Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, Li-Ma, and in art spaces such as Framer Framed, Plaatsmaken Arnhem, and 99 Canal. She also participated in the EYE Filmmuseum’s Lab Week with Apichatpong Weerasethakul in 2025.
